Face scrub for you to try. NOW!!!

Now, I just tried this and I am amazed how smooth and clear my skin is. And I have only used it once!

I’m pretty sure you have the ingredients. All you need is:3_wild_strawberries_close_up_uk_2006

  • Aspirin, 2 pills is a bit much for just your face
  • Fruit or berries to mash up (if you don’t have any, it’s fine as well) I used wild strawberries as they grow in my garden. You will only need about 1 tablespoon

And this is how the magic happens:

  1. Moisten your skin, you can moisten the pills as well but just a tad. And go crazy with it! Actually, just rub the pills on your face, you don’t have to scrub a lot, aspirin contains salicylic acid that peels the nasty off with any help.
  2. Mash the fruit- berries in my case and after a couple of minutes apply it on top of the aspirin. Wait another couple of minutes and wash off.
  3. Adore your silky-smooth face.

And this post will mark the beginning of irregular posting after a small break.

China Glaze, I love you so.

Crackles have been so big during the last year and I must say, I really like them. Though I am over the honeymoon phase and I have started nit-picking. Allow me to be more specific- I like crackle, I’m just over the black crackle.

And when a shop assistant at a local hair salon told me they will receive crackle/shatter polishes and told me they’ll be receiving black ones, I was really disappointed. Pretty much every bigger nail polish brand has got a crackle polish. Hell, they are even available in Pärnu and from several brands as well.

I need GOLDEN crackles. Not golden under black shatter, golden scatter!!

And of course I have googled my arse off to find one that was golden and available in Estonia. And I have not found a thing.

They do have a great one at Boots by 17.

crackletopcoat_gold17

And Sally Hansen has one as well.

Sally Hansen Crackle

I’m pretty sure there are more brands that have golden crackles but the one from 17 was the first one I discovered and craved and I discovered the Sally Hansen one yesterday. There’s even a slight possibility that the Sally Hansen ones might become available in Estonia at some point.

But there is hope still as I found out that China Glaze released their metal crackle collection.

Two words: I WANNA! Wanna might not be a word for grammar freaks but it is a word in my book.

crackle-glaze-metals-swatches1

I would really-really-really like to own the light blue one called Oxidized Aqua and the golden one (duh!) called Tarnished Gold.

Another things I would sell my soul for (yes, my soul is that cheap, give me a ring if you are interested).

Stay amazing, girlies!

XO, Janne.

10 Favourite drugstore beauty products

Well.. I was tagged by Janne and as I don’t want to be rude.. here’s my favourites.

1. Himalaya Herbals Lip Balm

spd_20100613110004_b

I don’t know if this product actually fits here, but what the hell. This is my post, not yours.
Well.. I don’t own this product atm, but I had this lip balm about two years ago. I got this for Christmas and my dad bought it from some random store in a small village. (yes, my dad is a Santa Claus)
And now.. I see Himalaya Herbals skincare products on the counters all the time. They have a lot of different products (I own a skin cream), they’re quite affordable and I can only speak for the lip balm and the moisturiser, but both of them are GREAT.
The lip balm has an amazing scent, it’s extremely moisturising and makes your lips very soft. The only downside is that it feels so great on your lips that you have to re-apply it all the time.
(Luckily Janne informed me that Kaubamaja Ilumaailm sells that, so I will check that out and buy myself at least 2-3 tubes, ha)

2. The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Lip Balm

413H7E2qEPL

It’s from their Christmas collection or smth I think (I’m not sure, though)
Oh those The Body Shop scents. IT SMELLS SO GOOD. I guess I forced everybody to sniff it at some point. haha
Anyway, it has this very light pink tone and little shimmer in it. Because of the sweet taste and scent it always have to be near me. It makes my lips very soft and moisturises them.
But definitely it’s not a good product when your lips are chapped or damaged. Other than that, it’s amazing!

3. The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask

tea-tree-face-mask_l

I have used this mask for almost 6 months now. And I really like this product. It makes my skin very clean and leaves it fresh and cool. At first it really made my skin look better and everything. Later it probably didn’t work that well anymore because of the stress, but I hope it soon starts doing wonders again.
The scent isn’t actually that great. Because well.. it still is a tea tree mask not somekind of fruit-bomb-mask.

4. Manhattan Eyeshadow Base

Eyeshadow-Base-Manhattan

Now this is the only eyeshadow base I have ever used, but I’m pretty satisfied with it.
The texture is very creamy and maybe even a bit silky. And it really is long lasting as said on the package. A nice night out and my eyeshadow stays on perfectly.
It has this really weird and unpleasant scent though. But it is totally worth the price.

5. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

rimmel stay matte powder

“Up to 5 hours natural shine control with natural minerals.”
I have to agree. But not more than 5 hours.. which is okay considering the price. And I have to be honest, it’s the only powder that my skin actually likes so far and I have repurchased it so many times that I have lost the track.
Great powder, great price.

6. Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 086 Sugar Plum

rimmel-lasting-finish-lipstick-in-sugar-plum-703828908

Oh my god, I’m a complete sucker when it comes to fuschias. But this one is my complete favourite. It’s such a pretty colour.
Now.. about the lipstick. It really stays on quite the long time. It soaks into your lips and you may have the feeling that you need to add an extra coat, but actually the colour is still there. It’s kind of matte so your lips have to be in a really good condition. Oh, and the scent! It has this amazing very sweet but not fruity scent. Oh how I love this lipstick.

7. MaxFactor Masterpiece mascara

570

Best. Mascara. Ever. I have already talked about this product, but oh well. It really is great. And it really is High Definition Mascara.. as said on the package. It defines you lashes, adds volume and length, very buildable also. I use the waterproof one and well.. obviously the lasting is amazing.

8. Artdeco Camoflage Cream

IMAG0185

As my good friend Liis once said: “It is excellent! Really hides everything you need to hide. All dark and uneven spots will be gone! Costs almost 6€ and is so worth it.”
It really is an amazing product. I guess I bought mine in autumn 2009 and I still have most of it left. So it is REALLY worth the price.

9. MaxFactor Xperience Weightless Foundation

max-factor-xperience-weightless-foundation_250x250

Another great product by MaxFactor. It really is weightless, but it also has quite nice coverage, not full coverage, but hey.. hence the name weightless.
SPF 10, lasting is excellent and what can I say. It’s Maxfactor.. I haven’t had any disappointments with them. HUGE thumbs up!

10. L’oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes

l-oreal-volume-million-lashes-mascara

I’ve had it three times.. the third one is the “extra-black” version and is still usable. So I thought that it must be a really good mascara since they don’t make it in waterproof (and this is usually my preference) and it probably deserves a place here too.
It’s the only mascara with a huge brush I actually have liked so far. It really makes your lashes look great, long and volumnious.
Basically the only downside is that they don’t make it in waterproof. *sadface*

So these were my favourites. I’ll tag Liis, hahah. Oh the fun. So you probably will see another favourites post. Try to bear with us.

Enjoy your weekend,

Andra

Foundation, foundation, foundation!

A little comparison of foundations. And I have to mention that I have used A LOT of foundations and my skin is really-really picky! Just because it's dry and just not nice.
But let's get started!

Magic Wand Illuminating Foundation by Too Faced:

I can honestly say that this is worth it's price. And I must add it is really pricy in Estonia.
This leaves your skin luminous and it has a buildable coverage. The formula is absolutely flattering and it is easy to apply.
There is just nothing not to love about it!

Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion Foundation:

< THIS IS LOVE! Seriously! Leaves your skin looking so healthy and a bit glowy. Looks natural, not all caked on. Doesn't irritate your skin in any way. I used to have really bad skin but when I started using this, my skin got a lot better. I might not be due to the foundation but still. I definitely recommend this! Without a doubt you won't regret buying this. The only downside about this foundation is that there's not much product inside the box (11,5 g).
Costs around 15€

Maybelline 24h Superstay Foundation:

This foundation is really-really bad! I'm not joking. Like what is that? It says like it stays on 24 hours. Are you kidding me? It stayed on 3 hours maximum.
And the formula is awful! If the other foundations are usually with silky consistance then this is just.. BAD! Plus in every shade it seems to be a pit red on your skin.
I don't know maybe it's me, but I really don't have anything good to say about it.

Maybelline Creamy Dream Foundation:

Well.. this isn't all bad. In scale 1-10 I would give it a good 5,5 points, maybe even 6. I hoped that it would stay on longer, but hey, it is really easy to re-apply. Leaves the skin looking quite okay, not bad at all. But this product also ends up really fast.
All in all, I need to say that this foundation is just fine.

Mac Factor Long Lasting Performance Foundation:

This one stays on! It really does. Of course if you apply it on very lightly, it won't, but you should get the idea.. Also leaves skin looking healthy and doesn't cake up on your face. Doesn't have any kind of shimmer in it, just a plain matte foundation, which I do like!
Should cost around 15€.

I must add that the Max Factor foundations are much-much better in comparison with Maybelline ones. So if you are doubting between picking up a Maybelline and Max Factor foundation, I would say you have to go for Max Factor ones.

My favourite one in this list should be Max Factor Miracle Touch.

I also need to point out a supergood concealer, which would be:

Artdeco Camouflage Cream Concealer

It is exellent! Really hides everything you need to hide. All dark and uneven spots will be gone!

Costs almost 6€ and is so worth it.
And if I'm being really honest now.. I have even used this as a foundation when I wanted to have a perrrrfect skin. I knew I will have pictures taken and I just applyed this, put on some foundation and it all looked super!

Okay, I will finish now. Hopefully this will be helful.

(PS: It is my high school graduation day tomorrow. I hope I can also make a post about that day.)

Laterz,
Liis

30 Seconds To Mars nails

No, nothing pretty or shiny on girlish coming up this time. Not today.
As I’m heading to the rock concert to see 30 Seconds To Mars in 4 days, but I have to leave home tomorrow, I decided that I have to do my nails before all that crazyness.
So I decided to draw the 30STM Triad on my nails. For those who doesn’t know what I’m talking about I have picture:

large-msg-125660400232

Looks simple, right? Well.. after two hours of drawing and then removing everything again I found out that I really-really need a ruler to draw straight lines.
Anyway, I still managed to finally do my nails. I can’t say I’m completely satisfied with them, but oh well. I just hope that I don’t have to do this again before the concert.

P6170121

So this is it. You’re really lucky that you can’t see my right hand. Believe me, it’s worse. Ignore the fact that I have some cleaning up to do.

Here’s what I used: Manhattan Quick Dry in 11A, somekind of nail art Ados black polish, Essie good to go! top coat.

Anyone going to see 30STM on Tuesday? Well.. I’m super-excited!

Out of the BLUE

Well.. hey? I want to say that my school is now finally over and I can become more involved in blogging. YAY.

I must add that I have a thing for all shades of blue. But who could blame me, the colour is just so pretty!

I noticed that all the attention in this blog has gone to eye make-up lately. Summer has driven us all mad. But yes.. Let's get down to business..

The products I used:

♥ - Lumene Beauty Base Eyeshadow Primer With Brightening Arctic Lingonberry

♥ - I got this eye shadow pallette from a weird little shop called ''Ladu 29'' which is on Rüütli street somewhere. (If u miracally live in Pärnu, u know what I'm
talking about).

♥ - I did put some simple blue shadow on, so that the creamy shadow would really stay on. Mine is from FlorMar just a blue quartet.

the eyeliner is MIYO glam eyes just a colour in turquoise as it says on the package. It sure seems more like royal blue, but oh well.

There is also a really nice turquoise coloured eyeliner pencil line on my waterline (okay, too many ''lines''). It's from Avon and I lovelovelove it! U+21D8.svg

♥ - As a mascara Maybelline ''the Falsies'' volum' express. (it is soooooo good!)

I hope you all like the look!
Summer nights are long and awesome, which means they require many superfun looks!

Have a nice weekend everybody!

Liis

eyeshadow160611SAM_0970

And I just applied some lip balm on the lips.

I’m really excited to do eye make up these last couple of days as I recently purchased Ecotools eye shadow brush kit. It’s really amazing and I can’t put them down.

I love that it’s raining right now, the weather announcement promised thunder but sadly enough there is no thunder to be heard or lightning to be seen. I really like the dark and murky weathers when I don’t have to go anywhere, I just sip my cup or earl grey with a splash of milk and eat my biscuits(I’m a true British at heart, lol), perfect day to catch up on my reading and blogging.

Have a nice one!

With love,

Janne.

10 Favourite drugstore beauty products

I was tagged by Kätlin (her blog is in Estonian) a week ago and finally I have made a verdict. So here are my top 10 beauty products (not just make up products).

Aaaaaaand drumroll, please.

maxfactormasterpiece

#1 Any Max Factor mascara.

I love pretty much every mascara I have ever tried from Max Factor. I mean, I could be their mascara spokes person or whatever. I have tried 2000 Calorie, 2000 Calorie Dramatic Effect, Masterpiece, Masterpiece Max, Beyond Length(not the best one out there), False Lash Effect, Lash Extension Effect (not a fan) and last but not least False Lash Effect Fusion. Currently I am using the one on the picture- Masterpiece Max and I am very satisfied with it.

beyu_blusher_13753_1

#2 BeYu Blusher in 115

I adore this mauve-y/rosy colour which has pretty intensive colour so it’s easy to make yourself look like a clown. Lasts quite well and did I mention that I love the colour??? Those who have read my blog and seen my YT videos might know that this is my ultimate go-to blush. One might even assume that this is my only blush, but no. It’s just a great one. You should go and swatch it one day.

Ok. I should stop being this annoying.. Let’s move on!

11046-2

#3 The Body Shop Blusher in 04 Golden Pink

Here it is next to THE Nars Orgasm. Pretty similar, eh? This blush is considered to be dupes for Nars Orgasm or Deep Throat. TBS one is on the right in the round pot and the photo is not mine sadly enough. I use this blush when the days get sunny and pretty so that the golden particles in it make my face gorgeous. Wouldn’t use it in the Estonian dark and ugly winters as it doesn’t suit indoors on pale skin on a grey school day in my opinion. So this is my summer blusher.

529-4514530IEUC888001M

#4 Rimmel London blush in 016 Misty Rose

Now this blush isn’t exactly packed with pigments, but thanks to that it gives a perfect radiance to your skin. Just a nice peachy sheen on your cheeks. Perfect for a clean everyday summer look.

148385_l

#5 L’oreal Paris  Quad Pro in 303 Beige Taupe

This is the most used eye shadow palette that I own. I used it for weeks straight after I had bought it. Even though I rarely use the upper peachy colour, I love this. I think this might be one of those rare eye shadows with which I might even hit the pan, especially the middle one.

file_11_28

#6 E. Funkhouser Brow Defining Palette in Brunette

I discovered that this is actually a discontinued product they sell on an Estonian online store MYLOOK for 3,20 Euros. You can’t even get 2 Fazer 200g chocolate bars for that money, but you will get 3 amazing colours which you may use for your brows or eyes. Long-lasting, the lightest colour is actually shimmery and very pretty. I have gotten a lot of compliments when I have worn this on my eyebrows. The brush is completely useful as well.

41Zr01XUDEL[1]

#7 Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in 422 Coral Tonic

Hello, gorgeous! This is a great coral color, I have olive skin and blue eyes so it is PERFECT! Sadly it doesn’t last nearly as long as I would like it to last, but what ya gonna do?? I imagine that this colour might not suit everyone so be aware.

5033-5539-large

#8 Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Lip Balm

I really don’t wear lipsticks on a daily basis, as a matter a fact it has to be a pretty special occasion for me to wear lipsticks.. So I wear lip balms and this one is a great one if your lips are rather damaged. The smell was a bit quirky at first but I have gotten used to it and some have described it as a pleasant smell.

047207

#9 Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion

Now this may seem as a very strong and harmful to your face (*coughs* like Clean & Clear Blackhead Cleaning Toner *coughs*). But this is pretty good. Doesn’t contain any parabenes, doesn’t have a very alcohol-y smell. But what I absolutely adore about this product is that it really gets the gunk of my skin, I mean I think “Oh yeah, my skin must be friggin clean now” and then I use this and the cotton pad will be really dirty. I have really noticed my skin improve with this.

380_NSU_Deep_Tan_Carotene_Sun_Lotion_200ml_pack1_png.ashx

#10 Nivea Sun Carotene Sun Lotion SPF6

I know that spf6 might seem little for some of you, but I apply it pretty often and as I am olive skinned, I don’t burn very easily as well (I do realize that I should be using one with bigger spf right now if I don’t want to look like the sole of a boot 10 years later). I have converted Andra into using this. Well I didn’t have to convert Andra, she just tried it once and had to buy it as well. This makes my skin achieve the darkest shade possible fastest. Doesn’t smell like coconuts, fruit or any other sun cream. Smells kind of manly to be honest. leaves your skin very soft and moisturised (extremely important when it comes to frying yourself in the warm sunlight).

And this is it, hope I was helpful.

And I will tag my co-blogger Andra. Show me what you’ve got!

With love,

Janne xo.

What is that smell? vol 2

Firstly, I have to warn you – lots of pictures coming up.
So, in my last post I showed you my little perfume collection. But as I live at my mom’s place during the summer and I like to use her fragrances once in a while, I thought that I should do a blog post about her collection. I try to keep it short and just describe these perfumes and say if I like them or not. So here we go.

Giorgio Armani Gio

Even though I like quite sweet and strong fragrances, I don’t like this one. It is way too strong and intensive flowery scent combined with vanilla and orange.

P6080012

Luciano Soprani Donna

When my mom first bought it, I didn’t like it at all. But now.. I really think that I will find a nice summer night out when I can wear it. It reminds me of jasmine and rose combination. I wanna say that it’s a sweet scent but I can’t, because it also is kind of fresh. I don’t know. I love the packaging.

P6080013

Christian Dior Diorissimo

I have no idea where my mom bought this perfume. In my opinion, it smells awful. Seriously. I did a little research and I found out that it should be a vintage perfume? I don’t know.

P6080014

Hugo Boss Deep Red

Good old Deep Red. Definitely not a daytime perfume. Sweet and sexy with ginger and vanilla. Love this perfume!

P6080015

Versace Bright Crystal

Again the same thing.. I didn’t like it when my mom first bought it. Way too fruity and floral and I don’t know what. Plus it became very popular last summer, everyone were wearing it. Now I tolerate it a bit more. I wore it once and got a compliment, oh well. I wouldn’t buy it myself.

P6080016

Lancome Poeme

This perfume is probably my mom’s all time favourite. There’s only few sparys left.. from the miniature bottle. The full size bottle is long gone, haha. Anyway, I kind of like it too. It is very strong and sweet flowery scent, maybe a little vanilla and musk in it?

P6080019

Thierry Mugler Innocent

I bought it for my mom. And I have very reverse feelings about this perfume. Firstly, I love the packaging. It’s a mixture of soft and sweet candy-like and spicy vanilla and almond scent. Wow, that’s complicated. I haven’t tryed it myself, but I think I definately will.

P6080021

Davidoff Cool Water

This is a fragrance that I don’t like. It’s all fresh and citrus-like. Everyhting I hate. bleh

P6080022

Morgan Love Love De Toi

I just found this spray pen version of this perfume hiding on the shelf. I had no idea that my mom owns this. Probably because she doesn’t use it anymore. When I was younger I really loved this perfume and I even considered buying it. It is really fruity, floral scent. I want to compare it with all those Escada fruitbombs, but I can’t because luckily it has a little sweetness in it. And I’m probably going to steal it from my mom.. just in case.

P6080023

Paul Smith Extreme

I really don’t know what to say about this fragrance. It is.. kind of woody, fresh and citrus-fruity? It’s very complicated scent apparently. ha-ha
I don’t even know if I like it or not. I love the packaging though.

P6080024

Givenchy Amarige

This is a second bottle for my mom. And well.. I suppose you all know how I feel about this perfume. : )

P6080025

So I guess you now know where my beauty-gene comes from.
Sorry if it’s a bit laconic, but I promise I have a great tutorial coming up.. as soon as my skin clears out.

Enjoy the summer,
Andra
